Diagnostic Instruments

Diagnostic instruments calibrated to how institutional capital reads a business.

Diagnostics drawn directly from TEOL's proprietary frameworks. Built to produce a defensible read, not a marketing score.

Confidential, institutional-standard, and built to support a conversation when the operator is ready.

What they are

TEOL Capital develops diagnostic instruments calibrated to the dimensions institutional capital actually reads — financial truth, reporting integrity, cash visibility, operator dependency, structural architecture, capital readiness, and acquirer readiness.

Nine instruments are currently available, with additional instruments under active development. Each produces a defensible read on a specific dimension or composite and outputs a formatted PDF the operator can use directly or bring into a discovery conversation.

How they are built

Most tools on advisory firm websites are marketing instruments. They produce a flattering score, route the user to a contact form, and deliver no defensible read on anything.

TEOL's instruments are built differently. Each is drawn from a proprietary framework — the Institutional Readiness Framework, the Financial Truth Ladder, and the others — and produces a read calibrated to the standards institutional counterparties actually apply.

The instruments are short — most complete in fifteen to twenty minutes. They are directional reads: useful in their own right, and useful as the starting point for a scoped conversation when the operator chooses. The output of every instrument is a formatted PDF delivered to the operator and held by TEOL under institutional confidentiality.

How they are used

Step 1

Start with the read

Operators new to TEOL begin with the Institutional Readiness Index; acquirers begin with the Buy-Side Readiness Index.

Step 2

Use the focused instrument

Operators with a defined question on EBITDA quality begin with the EBITDA Quality Calculator.

Step 3

Review the PDF

Each instrument outputs a formatted PDF suitable for internal review, board review, or a discovery conversation with TEOL.

Step 4

Move to conversation

Operators move from instrument to conversation when the situation warrants it — not on a drip schedule.

Where the instruments sit

The instruments are the interactive expression of TEOL's proprietary frameworks. Each is calibrated to the framework that governs it. Together, they surface the operators and acquirers TEOL is best positioned to serve.

Confidential

Held under formal confidentiality. Never sold or shared with third parties.

Formatted PDF

Every instrument outputs an institutional-grade summary.

Calibrated

Drawn from the frameworks counterparties read against.

Data handling

What we do with your data

When you begin an instrument, you provide standard identification and your structured responses across the dimensions in scope. Both are held by TEOL under formal confidentiality protocols and used in four ways.

01

Output delivery

Your formatted PDF is delivered to you directly.

02

Conversation preparation

Where you choose to engage TEOL, your prior responses inform the conversation so it begins from substance rather than from intake.

03

Editorial cadence

You may receive periodic, low-frequency content from TEOL's Operating Library, calibrated to the dimensions you engaged with. Editorial cadence — not marketing automation.

04

Principal-led outreach

Where your read surfaces a pattern TEOL is positioned to support, a principal may reach out directly with a brief, substantive note. Targeted and infrequent.

Your data is never sold, never shared with third parties, and never used for high-frequency drip sequences or outside-vendor retargeting. You may unsubscribe from editorial content at any time without affecting your access to the instruments, your PDF, or the confidentiality protocols governing your data.

Questions

Begin with the instrument that fits the question on the table.

The instruments are calibrated to the standards institutional capital applies. They are confidential, available to use, and built to produce a defensible read — not a flattering score.
